It was organized on 27.12.2019 at UAS, Raichur auditorium. The main objective is to familiarize participants with the concepts of digital library, & its usage and to facilitate understanding of digitization and practical knowledge of the digitisation process. The workshop was inaugurated by Dr. M. C. Sharma, Former Director and Vice-Chancellor of Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Izatnagar and Dr. R. B. Sharma, National Coordinator of NAHEP-IG spoke on the importance and scope of digitisation of libraries for upgrading the knowledge of students and also helps to cater the needs of human resource development in Kalyan Karnataka Region. About 500 students & 20 faculty members participated in the workshop.
Dr. K. N. Kattimani Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor UAS, Raichur Presided over the function and addressed gathering that students & faculty must get the benefit of the project by involving themselves in attending training/workshop/guest lecture under the project & Dr. D. M. Chandargi, Dean (Agri.) & PI, NAHEP-IG welcomed the guests and gave preamble of the project. Dr. A. S. Halepyati Prof. & University Librarian proposed vote of thanks. Dr. Pramod Katti, Administrative officer, UAS, Raichur anchored the function.
Later After inauguration of launch workshop Dr. A. S. Halepyati Prof. & University Librarian made presentation on activities under environmental sustainability plan of which green graduation day programme was initiated for newly admitted UG students at all the campuses with one plant per student.
Dr. Veeranjaneyulu, Librarian & Head, NIT, Warangal made presentation on topics related to E-resource of library & their usage such as E-resource in agriculture, online open access resources, gateways of open access journals and art of writing and publishing in journals. Finally at the end of workshop two students from all campuses (4 Colleges) gave their feedback about launch workshop and presentation.
